Commonwealth Towers is situated right next to Queenstown MRT station and is a highly sought after address in district 3. Queenstown is a developed estate with most of the facilities and amenities in place.

Based from the URA website, new changes in the vicinity will includes

1) New amenities will be built in five new precincts in Dawson which comprise of 30 shops, four eateries, supermarket and communal facilities such as education centre,  childcare centres, etc.

2) The former wet market at 38 Commonwealth Avenue has been gazetted under Master Plan 2014 and will be refurbished toserve the daily needs of residents.

3) Hawker centre with 40 cooked food stalls will be built and expected to be completed in end 2020.

4) The HDB Queensway Branch, currently located at Block 46 Commonwealth Drive, will move to a new unit above the upcoming hawker centre.

The Commonwealth Drive Food Centre, together with the shops and eating houses at Blocks 46-1, 46-2, 46-3 Commonwealth Drive, and Block 39 Tanglin Halt Road, will be cleared following the relocation of the food centre to Dawson. A new Neighbourhood Centre, with a market and food centre, will be built on the vacated site to create a new community node for the surrounding residents.

Schools around the vicinity includes Crescent Girl’s School, Gan Eng Seng Primary and also the National University of Singapore
